The Big Idaho® Potato Truck has announced a new video contest! Tater fans have a chance to win up to $3,000 by sending in a short video – either of them preparing your favorite Idaho® potato recipe or simply hamming it up in front of the camera with your favorite spud. Ask Dr. Potato: Can Idaho® Potatoes Be Used to Make Doughnuts?

A: Pairing potatoes with baked goods and desserts? Not such a foreign concept if we talk breads, cakes and donuts. For example, using mashed Idaho® potatoes in donuts is a long-standing technique (before Dunkin’ Donuts®, there was Spudnuts®). Potatoes give the finished donut a denser texture, locking in moisture and extending shelf life.
