Idaho® Potatoes – Always on the Menu for any Diet

Idaho potatoes aren’t only delicious and versatile, they’re chock full of important vitamins and minerals (plus they’re cholesterol, sodium, fat and gluten free)! Many of America’s most popular diets recommend eating potatoes because of their impressive nutrient dense profile. To help folks stick to their diets, we added a Diet Identifier to the recipe section to make meal planning easier. Whether you’re following the Whole 30 program or jumpstarting your vegan adventure for the year, we have more than enough meals to keep you full all 2023!

Touch Down Idaho® Potato Totchos

It’s Game On in 2023 with Idaho Potato Totchos! Crunchy, soft and tasty, tots reign over traditional tortilla chips when it comes to nachos. Bake the tots according to the package directions and sprinkle with taco seasoning. When it comes to toppings the sky’s the limit. We recommend layering the totchos with a simple homemade chunky tomato salsa, a warm cheese cheese sauce and taco-seasoned sour cream. Garnish with cilantro, a few lime wedges and dig in while it’s hot!

Ask Dr. Potato

Q: Oh no! I cut too many potatoes! How long can they be kept in the refrigerator covered?

A: Once peeled, completely cover the potatoes in a bowl of water and add an acid like lemon juice or white wine vinegar to prevent the potatoes from turning gray due to air exposure. If both of these steps are followed, your potatoes should last an extra day or two.
