Ask Dr. Potato:  I'm in charge of hosting Memorial Day brunch. Any tips on how to spice up my hash brown dish?

A: Here are a few of my favorite ways to spice up your Idaho® potato hash brown dish:

  • Use a colorful variety of Idaho® potatoes such as red, yellow or fingerlings.
  • Use both cubed and shredded Idaho® potatoes as the foundation of the dish.
  • Add protein such as sausage, bacon, eggs or ham.
  • Add sautéed onions and bell peppers for an extra crunch.
