EAGLE, IDAHO, October 13, 2009 - The Idaho Potato Commission (IPC), once again, pulled out all of the stops at the 2009 Produce Marketing Association's (PMA) Fresh Summit Exposition in Anaheim, California. The IPC, known for its crowd-drawing booth productions, brought its award-winning comic book retail ad campaign to life by casting PMA attendees in scenes from the Commission's 2009 campaign, "Adventures of the Idaho® Potato Retailer." A record one thousand plus produce industry professionals lined up to play the roles of the "Produce Manager," "Evil Villain," or "Grocery Shopping Damsel in Distress" from the IPC's current ad campaign - making the IPC's booth one of the most popular at the exposition.

"What a better place to bring our comic book ad campaign to life than at the biggest produce industry conference - PMA Fresh Summit," said Seth Pemsler, Vice President Retail/International, IPC. "Since its launch, our comic book-inspired ads have received rave reviews from industry professionals - keeping Idaho® potatoes top of mind for produce managers and well stocked for consumers seeking our premium potatoes."

There’s no doubt the IPC knows how to leave a lasting impression at PMA.  A record number of produce professionals visited the IPC’s booth for the opportunity to play a role in the infamous comic book ads.  More than one thousand produce professionals posed in front of a green screen, donning their best comic book character impressions.  Immediately following the photo shoot, the attendees’ faces were superimposed onto the comic book characters' hand-drawn bodies using Photoshop technology rarely seen at tradeshows or used on such large-scale productions.  In a matter of minutes, each participant received an 11x14 color poster starring them in one of the IPC’s classic comic book ad campaign covers – a souvenir sure to bring a smile and constant reminder to stock Idaho® potatoes.
