Homemade Sausage, Cheese, and Potato Ball Dog Treats

We love our pets, and making your own homemade dog food and treats just makes sense. Try making this easy dog treats sausage cheese balls recipe for your favorite pup!

 

Ingredients:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or spray the pan with a nonstick spray.
  2. In a large bowl add the diced potatoes, ground sausage, cheese, flour, and sage if using, mixing well with your hands to incorporate evenly.
  3. Using a spoon or ½ inch scoop, shape the mixture into ½ inch balls. Place on a prepared baking sheet about an inch apart.
  4. *At this point, you can freeze the sausage balls by laying them on a cookie sheet and placing them in the freezer for about 1 hour until they start to firm up, and then you can transfer them to a freezer-proof container and keep them frozen for up to 3-4 months. When ready to bake, remove from the freezer and bake at 350F for about 25 - 30 minutes or until golden.*
  5. Bake sausage balls in a preheated 350°F oven for 25-30 minutes or until sausage cheese balls are golden. Allow to cool before giving them to your pet. Can be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
