Baked Potato Bar

This baked potato bar is super tasty and can be made to suit even the pickiest of eaters with everyone creating their own personalized baked potato.

Ingredients:

  • Baked Idaho® Potatoes (find out how to make them below)

Simple Baked Potato Bar Topping Ideas:

  • Butter

  • Sour cream

  • Seasonings – salt, pepper, lemon pepper, everything bagel seasoning
  • Fresh herbs – parsley, cilantro, chives
  • Broccoli
, cooked
  • Corn

  • Jalapeño slices, fresh or pickled
  • Avocado slices or guacamole

  • Shredded cheeses – cheddar, mozzarella, Gouda, pepper Jack
  • A variety of hot sauces

  • Salsa
  • Queso
  • Black olives, sliced
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Dressings – ranch, blue cheese
  • Crispy bacon, crumbled (a must for any baked potato bar!)

  • Green onions, sliced
  • Onions, diced (red, yellow, or white onions)

  • Tomatoes
, diced
  • Chili

  • Black beans
  • Leftover meat – hamburger, steak, chicken, taco meat, pulled pork
  • Tortilla chips, crushed

Flavor Topping Combination Ideas:

  • Taco Tuesday: Salsa, queso, fresh cilantro, tortilla chips

  • BBQ Spud: pulled barbecue pork, aged Gouda cheese, crumbled crispy bacon, diced red onion, sour cream, barbecue sauce (this is my favorite baked potato bar flavor combo!)

  • Classic Sour Cream and Chives: sour cream, chives, grated cheddar cheese, salt and pepper

  • Classic Chili Cheese: your favorite chili, cheddar cheese, sour cream

  • Meat and Potatoes: sliced beef steak, butter, arugula or a baby lettuce mix, blue cheese or ranch dressing, sour cream, crumbled blue cheese or cheddar

  • Tex-Mex Chicken Nachos: shredded rotisserie chicken, grated Mexican cheese mix, jalapeño slices (fresh or pickled), fresh cilantro, salsa, black beans, coarsely crushed tortilla chips
  • Spring Veggies: sliced cooked yellow summer squash, sliced cooked zucchini, diced green onions, ranch or blue cheese salad dressing, salt, pepper

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Wash and dry potatoes.
  2. With a fork or sharp knife, pierce each potato 2 or 3 times.
  3. Rub each potato with a little oil (lightly coated) and salt generously.
  4. Place on a baking sheet. Bake 50-60 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 210°F.
